Large Rounded-Form Vase - Organic Glaze

Handcrafted ceramic vase with a softly rounded organic form; reminiscent of a smooth oversized pebble. The upper and lower sections are warm, natural tones of the clay, while the centre is wrapped in a richly layered band of deep ocean blue, blue-green and earthy brown glazes.

The glaze has a beautiful fluid quality, with colours bleeding and pooling into one another to create a coastal-pools effect. The vase has a simple, sculptural silhouette that allows the glaze art to become the main feature. Its slightly irregular handmade character and variation in colour gives it a distinctive, one-of-a-kind feel.

Nature

The fluidity of pouring the glazes over each piece explores what happens when organic movement is captured in stoneware. This glaze colour and formation here resembles lichen or mosses growing on coastal rocks: teal blues, punctuated by touches of green, ochre and warm rust.
